Tiger Pull arcade machine

Tiger Pull

Tiger Pull was a strength-tester released in 1928 by the Exhibit Supply Co. It consisted of a cast-iron tiger mounted onto a vertical wooden platform; a thick length of rope was attached to the back end of the tiger (hence, its 'tail').

When a patron inserted a nickel and pulled the rope with sufficient force, a loud horn within the device sounded. A grill-covered hole in the side of the device allowed the sound to reverberate outward.

The device was a true 'strength tester' machine, as some force was needed to get the roar sound. A metal footplate was mounted on the bottom front of the device so that the patron could get sufficien leverage.

The front marquee reads, 'PULL the tiger's tail and hear him ROAR!'

The device measured 64"x31"x20" and sat directly on the floor.
